INTRODUCTION
In the early 2000’s, renowned Sabre Yachts of Maine, builder of fine American sailing yachts 28-45’ since 1970 and fast downeast trawlers ince 1989, realized a segment of the trawler-buying public that craved a single engine yacht with bow and stern thrusters for easy maneuverability, a comfortable ride, good speed, and excellent fuel efficiency. Back Cove Yachts began to fill this void in 2002.
In 1989, their first motor yacht, the Sabreline 36 fast trawler, was introduced. The ‘fast’ aspect of the vessel was a welcome upgrade from the more traditional slow-speed offerings from other manufacturers common for the day. As the yachting public began moving from sail to power, Sabre’s trawler line expanded to a collection of downeast fast twin-engine trawlers from 38’ to 58’. Back Cove would fil the niche for single engine propulsion without sacrificing style, performance or enjoyment. Today, over 200 craftsmen and craftswomen in Rockland, Maine offer these beautiful designs from 34’ to 41’.
Our 2015 Back Cove 41, SIMPLICITY is the flagship of the Back Cove line. First introduced in 2014, the Back Cove 41 now has over 100 copies plying the waters of the world. She boasts a bright and airy glass-surround salon, spacious cockpit, owner’s and guest cabins with two private heads, comfortable and efficient hull shape and single screw propulsion for impressive fuel savings. She can scoot at nearly 27 knots in fast cruise while only consuming 28.6 gph. That’s nearly 1 gal/mile and a 330nm range, a testament to Back Cove’s design, build quality and efficiency.
SIMPLICITY, based on the mid-Chesapeake Bay, has super low hours for her age, and has been meticulously maintained by her thoughtful owners. She is ready to embark on her next adventure.
